We’ve not been posting anything the past few days because we’re pretty sure nobody wants to see photos of poor little Ella right now.
On Tuesday evening Elly pressed her hands and face against our very hot fireplace glass and suffered some very serious burns. We have a fireplace grate, but since she’s completely brilliant she somehow managed to figure it out and get inside.
We rushed to children’s hospital where they treated her. The prognosis is good for her face - its already showing signs of healing, especially on her little cheeks. Her hands had to be put into casts though so they heal in an open position. They will open the casts at our next check up on Friday to access the damage, but most likely she will need graft surgery on her palms.
It’s been an awfull week, but she is in good spirits and we know she will heal.
In more positive news, today she said another new word: UP, while climbing the stairs.
Her birthday is in a couple of weeks and we are hopeful she is mostly healed by then.
